Thousands of residents in Luuka District have endorsed Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Chairman Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for President in 2031, during an endorsement exercise attended by political leaders and PLU coordinators from across the region.
Led by Samuel Nabeeta Mulowooza, the PLU Regional Coordinator for the Busoga sub-region and Patriotic Officer (PO) 028 under the organization's leadership structure, through his message read by Owek James Mukembo urged members to protect the gains made by the ruling government through supporting Gen.Muhoozi adding that the organization’s current activities are focused on mobilization and endorsements.
Mukembo stressed the importance of unity, discipline, and robust accountability measures for patriotism and national unity.
With the endorsement board signed, Luuka has formally registered its support for Gen. Kainerugaba’s 2031 presidential bid, adding to the endorsement activities taking place across the Busoga Sub-Region.
The exercise also brought together Hon.Bagoole John Ngobi the Luuka North MP, Hon Harriet Nabirye the luuka DISTRICT Woman MP, Hon Kisa Steven Bakubalwayo the Luuka South MP among others who stated that consultations and endorsements from all stakeholders will continue as the movement consolidates national grassroots structures.
The endorsement forms part of a nationwide mobilization drive rolled out by the PLU ahead of the 2031 electoral cycle.
It should be remembered that PLU launched a signature-collection campaign in the Busoga sub-region as part of a nationwide mobilisation drive seeking more than 20 million signatures in support of its chairman, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, ahead of the 2031 presidential election.
The campaign attracted PLU leaders, politicians, Members of Parliament, local government leaders and supporters from across Busoga, who pledged to mobilise support for Muhoozi ahead of the 2031 general elections.
PLU says it is targeting more than one million signatures from Busoga alone as it seeks to demonstrate grassroots support for Muhoozi's anticipated presidential bid.
